Seattle Lesson #27: Always pack socks, warm shoes, jeans and a sweatshirt when
traveling in the Pacific Northwest.
We had to sit inside because it was very cold and windy!
This is the front of the Palace Hotel. It was built in 1889 for $28,000!
We had a really cool room and the staff was ridiculously nice.
The following pics are from inside our room. It is on the 2nd floor and faces the beach,
although the tree really blocks the view. But we didn't miss it!
The sleeping area is upstairs in the loft. I had fun standing up there singing
"Don't cry for me Argentina!!" Then it got stuck in Peter's head, and that was funny.
The guy at the front desk gave us a hand written list of all of the good places to eat in town. It was so cute!

If you look closely Peter and I are waving in the mirror...
Beautiful Mountains!
A few of the other buildings from around town
Sunday Morning we snooped around a little and checked out all the rooms that were empty. They were all very cute, but we liked ours best.
After a little snooping we took about an hour long road trip to Crescent Lake. It's basically the most beautiful place ever, and I cannot wait to go back. The lake is surrounded on all sides by mountains, and is about 1000 feet deep! It is a natural lake created by a Glacier and the water was so beautiful. Of course the pics don't do it justice but it was MAGICAL.
You might be a redneck if you make your wife get out of the picture you are
trying to take of your truck lol
Not long after we arrived we met this little guy. He was so tame and friendly that at first I thought he was trying to attack me and I was really scared! You can see me hiding from him in the 2nd picture. My "hero" Peter was too busy laughing and taking pictures to protect me. But he ended up being a nice duck ;)
(you can see the stalker duck still hanging around back there)
I have never seen so much green moss before! A bunch of the trees were completely covered in it!
We were only about 35 miles from Forks, so I talked Peter into going over there for a few minutes, but it wasn't too exciting. Didn't get to meet any Vampires! Oh well, at least we got cheap gas!
There were all these tiny little streams coming down the mountain.
I half expected little fairies and elves to be flying around!
Watch out for bears!
I love how you can see the layers of trees on this one
You know we had to!
On our way home we stopped and got some delicious Gyro's from this little
food truck. YUM!!
Ha!...and did the Peter the Greek approve?! Sky...what a fabulous trip! I was thinking that hotel looked so cute and how I wanted to go, then I got to your nature shots. WOW! Very cool!!!
